Good afternoon Dreamers! I pray this post finds you well and in great spirits. I hope you all had a marvelous weekend and are now prepared to have a productive and fruitful week; I know I am.
For the past few months I’ve gotten more serious about spending time with God. I mean, I’ve seriously made an effort to sweet aside time to spend with God. I’ve made that time a little more special, by reading scripture, praying, and also writing in my journal. It’s quiet time that I spend with God before preparing for bed. I use that time to reflect upon my day, as well as thanking God for what He is doing in our lives.
But on one particular evening, something different happened. As I was praying, the word, “release” kind of slipped out of my mouth. My first reaction was, “I didn’t mean to say that”. However, I continued praying. As I concluded my prayer, I decided to look up the meaning of release:
Release is defined as, to allow or enable escape from confinement; to set free; the act of being released from bondage, affliction, or obligation; to relinquish; to liberate or surrender.
So, in other words, as I was praying, God was speaking to me as well. For the very things I was praying or had prayed for, God was telling me to release them to Him. He was saying, now that you’ve prayed for these things, give them to me.
Psalm 69:19 states, praises be to the Lord, to God our savior, who daily bears our burdens.
So often we pray to the Father about an array of things, asking for assistance, breakthrough, or change, but we never truly relinquish all of what we pray for to Him. Why? Because there is a small part of you and I that believe we can still work it out on own on. But what happens when we do that? We end of causing more harm than good. It tends to make the issues worse rather than better.
When we do this, we are ultimately saying, Lord, I trust you, but I want to help you. But how many of you know that God doesn’t need your help? That may be a hard pill to swallow, but God really doesn’t need our help. God has tasked each of us with a duty, and that is to pray, trust, and thank God in advance for what you asked Him for. SIMPLE!
Trusting God is a two way street. There is no passing, swerving, no making your own lane, or forcing your way. Staying in your lane means trusting God, and God’s lane is working it out. There is no room for your own detour or construction. God either wants us to trust Him wholeheartedly, or not at all. God’s word assures us that He can handle the job.
Psalm 55:22, states, cast all your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you. He will never let the righteous be forsaken.
Jeremiah 1:12 states, God watches over His words to perform it.
This assures us even more that God is a sufficient God, and he is steadfast in His promises to each of us. So when God says to “release” it, He is telling us to let it go, give it to me, and let me fix it. God knows that we will face many challenges in this life. But we must recognize that God uses one hand to hold us up, while using the other to fix the problem. God wants us to trust Him with the small as well as the big. That means trusting God with no reservation.
God wants us to live a liberated life, free from frustration and worry; free from anxiety and doubt. Because when we try to fix things on our own we become a prisoner of ourselves. God can’t give liberation until you relinquish fully. There is no room for you to be the judge and juror. You do not have to fear a thing, because as the Word of God declares, He didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of peace, love, and a sound mind.
So I encourage you this day, to “RELEASE” fully, and wholeheartedly. Trust that when you pray, God listens and He will work it for your good. Don’t loose focus and don’t allow those frustrations to cloud your blessings!!!
I pray this has blessed you on today!! I love you! Have an amazing week. ~BlessingsFlow
