Fill Your Space

I didn’t sleep well last night.  I struggled this morning with getting started and being productive.  I was informed this morning that we are requested to return to work on a hybrid schedule. After working from home for a year, this brought on a swarm of feeling and emotions that I wasn’t expecting.  I figured at some time we would be asked to return, I just didn’t see it coming.  I was overwhelmed so I laid down.

Even after getting back up, I still felt unsettled.  I was sitting at my kitchen table scrolling through Facebook and came across this song entitled, “The Blessing’ by Elevation Church.  I heard the Holy Spirit say to me, “fill your space”.  I have the song downloaded to my phone so I told Alexa to play the song.  I immediately began to fill my space with God’s word through this song.  The Holy Spirit always knows what you need. Psalm 46:1 reminds us of this, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in the time of trouble.

Fill is defined as caused to become full or full up; occupy space; overwhelming presence; pour into; or to cover.

There is a lot going on in this world; a lot that is misguiding us and leading us down the wrong path away from God.  You see, God is always sure to be found if we seek Him.  However, many of us seek so many other things that we often lose sight of seeking God.  Many of us desire to seek the carnal things, materialism of this world which results in us turning our face away from God.  In our own flesh, using our own wits and understanding so often aim to build a life that we desire without even consulting God on what His plan is for our lives.  So we find ourselves corrupted, drained, wasted, delusional, and distorted trying to do it and figures it our all on our own.  That is not the will of God.  God is reminding us to “fill your space” with things that matter; things that causes your soul to grow; things that will cause God’s promise to manifest in our lives.  I pose the question, “why live life on your terms, when God has already given you the contract, the instructions on how to live and enjoy the abundance life.  Fill your space.  Fill your space with the Word of God; Fill your space with God’s presence.

The mistake that so many of us make is that we fill our space with everything except God; we fill our space with what the world tells us to fill it with.  Some people fill it with burning sage and incense; some fill it with manmade affirmations; some fill it with crystals and horoscopes; some fill it with egos and pride. We replace God’s way with what we think is better. What I have learned is that whatever you fill your space with is what will manifest for your life.  It is what you will deem to be true and accurate. That is not the will of God.  Filling your space with the God defines you, refines you, develops you, assist with perseverance and building strength.  God encourages us to be strong and courageous. (Joshua 1:9)  God reminds us of this because He knows the challenges that the human experience brings.  However, through Him, we can overcome and sustain.  But that only comes with filling our space with his love and his instructions.  We cannot desire to live a godly life but using earthly practices.  In order to reap the promise, the Word of God has to be a part of our lives.  Fill your space with God’s love; fill your space with music that speaks to your spirit; fill your space with friends that encourage you and uplift you; fill your ear and eye gates with things that speaks to your soul.

Fill your space with the One who created you, designed you, and knew you before you were in your mother’s womb.  Turn off the tv, stop watching all those crazy shows and movies, put that phone down and decompress for a little.  Balance!!!!!!  Give God some time too, to fill your space with what your soul yearns for.  God knows what you need, and He promised!!  Let the overwhelming love, grace and presence of God fill your space, your life.  I promise, it’ll change your life.  Blessings Flow
