Good morning, Dreamers…. hope you are well.
The Lord is notorious for dropping worship songs in my spirit. This morning after prayer, I was reminded of the song, “Moving Forward” more specifically the lyrics, “yes, you make all things new, and I will follow you forward. I haven’t listened to this song in years, but it was great commute worship. The lyrics go on to say, “I’m not going back, I’m moving ahead. Here to declare to you, my past is over in you. All things are made new, surrendered my life in Christ, I’m moving, moving forward.”
Revelations 21:5 says, “and he who was seated on the throne said, “behold I am making all things new.” Also, he said write it down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
Can I be transparent, I sometimes find myself grasping for the former things, things of the past. Why? Because I remember how I felt and how it made me feel. There are some things I miss, but then there are some things that were just familiar to me and comfortable. But being comfortable can also be dangerous, because in a time of comfort, we are not open to receive, and we are not open to letting go either. But it is also a time where we can miss what God is trying to do in our lives because of comfort. It’s hard to receive or perceive the new that God is doing when we are holding so tightly to what is old or rather what may be coming to an end in our lives. Truth is, we don’t just grieve in death, but we also grieve things in our lives that once was, rather it be a job, a home, a marriage, a dream or even a long-awaited desire that never came to pass.
God is saying let go! Get up, brush yourself off and move forward.
Philippians 3:13 says forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead. I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
It’s hard to press forward when you keep visiting and revisiting the old stuff. Even the scripture says forgetting what lies behind. It’s not to be harsh or insensitive, but you must press. I know it’s hard, but press; I know you wanted it to work, but press; I know you feel ashamed and embarrassed, but press; I know it was your dream job, but press; I know your marriage or relationship has failed, but press. You got to press.
God is the redeemer of time and space, redeemer of relationships, redeemer of opportunities. Nothing in your life has taken God by surprise. He is aware of where you’d be in this present moment. Moments of uncertainty and clarity is where we muster the faith to trust God, the only one that can save and redeem.
You are not loser, you are not a failure, so let the redeem of the Lord say so. I encourage you to surrender the brokenness of your life to the One that can restore and redeem. I leave you with this…. Isaiah 43.19 says, “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
New ways, news streams, new doors, new opportunities, new relationships are up ahead.
Let this lead your day. Be encouraged, blessings flow.
