To be inspired sometimes you must walk in the dark. It’s in the darkness that you realize you can see because there is nothing to see. To recognize light, one must experience darkness.
2 Corinthians 5:7 says, “for walk by faith and not by sight”.
If we walk merely by sight, we will never see or experience what God has for us in the light. Our natural sight causes you and I to contradict everything God promised in the spirit. The reason God instructs to walk by faith and night by sight is because when we walk by sight, we attempt to use human rationale, carnal thinking to explain spiritual things. Our natural sight can sometimes cause us to cancel what we are believing God for in the spirit.
You know the saying, “there is light at the end of the tunnel”. The saying gives us context of spiritual sight. How do you know that is light at the end of the tunnel? You experience the glory of that light because you’ve been walking in darkness. You can comprehend the joy of the light when you’ve been walking in the dark. That is the same joy that God wants us to experience when we come to Him. Every day with God is like light at the end of the tunnel and every day with God is an experience with light. You are inspired by the light because as you walk toward it you want more of it. The more you walk toward the light, the more you see, the clearer it gets, the surer each steps get. You don’t have to feel your way because you can see the way.
The love of God inspires us to leave the darkness behind and the light of God inspires us to walk in the light. Ephesians 5:8 says, “For at one time you were in darkness, but now you are in the light of the Lord. Walk as children of the light”. Darkness dispels but light compels. John 8:12 says, “Again Jesus spoke to them saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness but will have the light of life”.
As we walk and experience life with God, let His light compel you from a life in darkness. Darkness has friends that work together to dispel us and keep us bound such as fear, worry, doubt and hopelessness. But light also has friends of hope, courage, peace, and joy that compels us to keep walking. The thing about darkness, is that it’s always there but you don’t have to step into it. I encourage you, do not curse your circumstance, but use it as inspiration to make your way to end of the tunnel. As the old folks say, trouble don’t last always.
I will leave you with this thought: In John 12:35, “Jesus says to them, the light is among you for a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you. The one who walks in the darkness does not know where he is going”. I say to you friend, you have light, sight and you can see, so keep going, keep walking, keep praying, keep faithing it, until something happens.
Be encouraged, blessings flow.
