The Safety Net

Safety Net is defined as something placed to catch something in case of a fall; or, a safeguard against possible hardship or adversity.

Ask yourself this question, “Are you secured?”  Sometimes we find ourselves going through life without a care in the world. In your own little world, your job is going great, doors of opportunities seems to be flying open, and you are feeling great. Things are going as planned; you feel accomplished. And that’s ok, until you are in need of a safety net. Often times we take credit for how great things are going in our lives.  We credit ourselves for the job we have, the car, the family, and overall success. You fall victim to the “I” syndrome…….. I accomplished this, or I accomplished that. All in all, it’s God whom allowed you to accomplished your success thus far, it’s God who blessed you with a great family, it’s God who opened  doors for you.  But yet, you find yourself giving such little credit and thanks to Him. Take a good look at your life, your success, your dreams and aspirations. All the time, while you are giving yourself all the praise, it’s God who’s been there all along as the safety net; keeping you afloat, keeping you from tripping, and ultimately catching you when you did fall, and you didn’t even realize it. As we navigate through life, we must realize that’s it’s only by God’s grace and mercy that we are able to breathe and accomplish that is set before us.
For example, you may not have been the first choice for that job, but God saw fit, and here you are now. When you messed up on the job and should have been fired, God stepped in with the safety net, and here you are still. When you should have died in that car accident, there God was with that safey net protecting you because your purpose wasn’t yet fulfilled.  This walk with God is a faith walk. It’s not what we see or what we feel, but merely what we believe in our hearts. The safety net has been placed even without us asking….it’s called grace. If you draw close to God, He will indeed draw close to you. (James 4:8).
The same way you secure your future with insurances and 401K plans, you should secure your DREAMS by asking God to guide your steps and decisions. Your DREAM is depending on you to be fulfilled. God hasn’t equipped anyone else to accomplish and fulfill your DREAMS…..only you can do that!! So, take that leap of faith, have faith that your  safety net is in place and go for it!! Time waits for no one!! For every moment you waste in fear, it’s a moment stolen by procrastination. Hope this blesses your soul!! God bless & blessings flow! Love ya
