Yes, you’re adopted! If you’ve accepted Christ as your Savior, yes, you are adopted!! You may ask how, well, let me explain.
Romans 8:15 states, “For we did not received the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the spirit of adoption by whom we cry Abba Father”.
Adoption is defined as legally taking another’s child and making it your own.
We are all God’s creation, but we are not all God’s children. Through the spirit of adoption, we were graphed into God’s family.
God saw fit to make way for us through His son Jesus. God created the spirit of adoption because He wanted all of His creation to have access to Him and the promises of His lineage. God is a God of order and retribute. God is fair and will not leave us hopeless nor helpless. So, take your place. Therefore, through the death and resurrection of His son Jesus, He afforded us, the Gentiles, access to the promise. Take your place. God was looking out for His beloved even when we were not looking out for ourselves. This adoption afforded us access to a royal priesthood. Take your place.
Romans 11:17-24: Gentiles were wild branches, who were broken off, but have been graphed in. You now share nourishment from the same olive tree root. So now you also receive the blessing God has promised Abraham.
Through this spirit of adoption, we share equally in the promises of God, because we belong to Christ Jesus. God possess us has His own, His chosen people, His blessed people. So, take your place. You now have the power to manage your life according to the promises of God. You are no longer a wanderer, looking for “a place”, you now have power to “take your place”. This same spirit of adoption is still alive today. The spirit of adoption is one of the purest forms of love shown to mankind and through mankind.
I know sometimes the enemy may cause disarray to make you believe that you are unloved, unwanted, undesirable, but the Bible, God’s love story to us, reveals day in and day out His undeniable love and grace for us. In the love of Christ, you will always have a place, a position that you will never have to fight for. The spirit of adoption is an unyielding gesture of God’s love for you and your place in Him. So, take your place!
So, today, as we look forward to a year of redemption and retribution, may you recognize your place in Christ. May you see and feel the daily love and spirit of adoption on your life. Friends, take your place!
