If you don’t trust yourself, then you don’t trust God!! (Excerpt from Joyce Meyer, the Confident Woman)
When I first read that statement, it kind of shocked me. I actually had to read the statement again. It made me say…..mmmmm, because it made so much sense. Christ lives within us; of course, He doesn’t force himself on us, but gives each of us free will to accept His grace and love as our personal savior. So, I said to myself, that statement is really true. Often times, it so easy to try and depend on self and carry burdens on our own, but we all know that it is truly by the grace of God that we have made it to where we are. In everything that we do, we are to acknowledge the power of Christ that works through us; we are to acknowledge His presence, His boldness, His courage, His power, His grace, and His favor that resides within us on His behalf. He is the one that allows each of us to accomplish each goal, and overcome every obstacle. Therefore, since Christ resides in us, IF WE DON’T TRUST OURSELVES, THEN WE ALSO DON’T TRUST HIM (CHRIST).
God is foreseeing; He is aware of all and everything that we are to come up against. But He knows that He has equipped us with everything that we need to be overcomers and victorious, but is US (YOU) who must also believe that. You have to trust that what God has equipped you with, will supply you with the grace, courage, boldness, and faith needed to come out on top. Don’t just have confidence in your fleshly abilities, but have faith in Christ that resides in you; who in return will allow your fleshly abilities to exude faith, courage, and confidence. Having faith in you alone is a plan for failure; but having faith in the one that resides with you (CHRIST) is plan for victory.
