John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish and but everlasting life.
Jeremiah 31:3
I have loved you with an everlasting love, and have drawn you with unfailing kindness.
John 15:13
Greater love has no one than this, than someone lay down his life for his friends.
As we commemorate this Holy Week, I am reminded of the love shown toward humanity, that we could experience life abundantly. I read a quote the other day that read, “I thought love looked like a heart, but it actually looks like the cross”. Christ bore it all on the cross. I don’t believe that there is anything we that we face that Christ hasn’t already conqueror on the cross.
Christ even reminds us to love the Lord thy God with all your heart, with your soul, and with all your mind; thou shall love they neighbor as thyself. The foundation of Christ is love. We are able to love because He first loved us. Love is a natural feeling and desire because it was implanted in us from the beginning of time. We all yearn to love and to be love because God placed the desire there. We don’t love by choice, but by ordination. It’s all in the love. God tells us in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 all about love; what it is, what it looks like, what it feels like, and what it should be.
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails.
We may celebrate this Resurrection season a little different this year, however, it doesn’t change the ultimate display of love and affection shown toward us on the cross. The cross is the greatest expression of love shown toward mankind. The love shown at the cross, is the same love shown and available today. God wants to remind you that you are loved and precious in His sight. Despite circumstances, His love for us remains pure and true. For your why, it’s because He loves you; for you what, it’s because He loves you; for every no, it’s because He loves you; for every yes, it’s because He loves you. I know you’ve heard the saying, “it’s all in the details”, well consider this, “it’s all in the love”. Even is our most uncomfortable circumstance, God still covers us in love; even in our sin, God see’s the blood, and covers us in love. There’s no love like this. I pray you know that Christ loved you enough, to say yes to the cross!
Happy Holy Week
