To disobey God, is our hostility towards God, because ultimately, we are saying that we know what’s best for us rather than God. I must say, this was a very defining weekend for me spiritually. Over the past week, I had been asking God to show me His face; asking God, what is it that He wants me to do; asking God to help to surrender every area of my life to Him. One thing for sure, when you ask God to show you something you better be ready to receive it, listen to it, and adhere to it. God did just that…….
Deuteronomy 14:2
You have been set apart as holy to the Lord God, and he has chosen you from all the nations of the earth to be His own special treasure.
Hebrews 10:10
We have been set apart as holy because Jesus Christ did what God wanted him to do by sacrificing his body once and for all.
The two above referenced scriptures best describe what I’m feeling. When God calls you, you’ll know; and when you are set apart, you’ll know. God calls His people to be the standard; to be a light in a world so full of darkness, to be a city on a hill that cannot be hidden. (Matthew 5:14). You cannot be in the world and of the world. You cannot be both hot and cold at the same time. In Revelation 3:16 it states, so because you are lukewarm, neither hot or cold, I will spit you out of my mouth. Therefore, you must choose, I must choose. I think God is saying, I would rather you be one or the other instead of trying to do both. The Bible also says in James 1:8 that a double minded person is unstable in all his ways. In other words, to be lukewarm is to be untrustworthy. I want to live for God and be an example for those that I’m around. Although, we all sin and fall short, I don’t want to be the reason that someone questions God, or faith.
And, another thing for sure, I don’t want God to spit me out of His mouth. I don’t want to be unpleasing or hostile to God. I understand even more now, why I must choose, because I may be the very person that draws someone to Christ, or I can be the very person that causes someone to reject God. I read a quote the other days that said, “you inspire people who pretend not to see even you”. You may think that they aren’t watching or paying attention, but it’s someone that’s growing closer to God just by what you post on social media, or even just by your life living. Your life living should bring glory to God, and not disgrace.Your line should be so clearly defined, that no one should have to question where you stand, or what you believe. This truth will be evident in your walk, your talk, and your life living.
I thank God, that even in my mis-steps His grace is still sufficient. My choosing process begins now…….. in choosing you will always lose something; but for every loss there is a gain. I believe my soul’s salvation deserves that much from me…..
I pray this has blessed someone. Have an awesome week, ~BlessingsFlow
