The Walk

This morning, I read a devotion that truly blessed my spirit. Today is my birthday eve, and it was so fitting so I thought I’d share.

The devotion was discussing the crucifixion of Christ; how He bore and died for our sins so that we may have a chance at abundant life. He loved us just that much, he died so that we could live. That was the ultimate display of affection and love for His people. However, often times we stop there, at the GRAND FINALE. Yes, indeed He died and rose on the third day with all power, but how did He get there? We often forsake “the walk”; what Christ endured before He got to the cross; what he endured before He said, “your will be done”; before He said, “forgive them for they know not what they do”; or before He actually carried the cross.
I believe the most grand part of the story was the walk. I would like to believe that during the walk, Jesus could have defended himself; he could have spoken up but because He knew the will of the Father, He endured.  Many times, we aren’t willing to endure; we aren’t willing to go through; we aren’t willing to past the test because we want the grand finale right now. As the scripture declares, Job 23:10, but He knows the way that I take; and when He has tried me I shall come forth as gold.
Jesus was blamed and convicted, spat on, kicked, beaten, tortured, and carried his own cross to his own death……….
These very things may not happen to you today, but are you willing to take the walk? Are you willing to be tried and tested? Are you willing to be forsaken by those that you call friend? Your crucifixion may not be to a cross but it could be your job, your family, your children, your husband etc.  There are just some things you can’t go around, get out of, can’t go under or over, you must take the walk through.  I encourage you to trust Him. Enduring the walk builds character, stability, faith, courage and endurance. Things that are needed and necessary to where God is taking you.
God wants you strong, your faith strong. The desire of Christ is not for His people to weak and low in spirit, but for His people to be mighty and strong. A fighter only gets stronger by training, therefore a Christian only gets stronger through faith.
I encourage you to take a moment to examine your walk and your faith. Your endurance depends on it; your life depends on it. When you have been tried, you then, can only come forth as gold. God is so amazing, try Him and see!
Love you,
BlessingsFlow
