Things don’t go as planned! I’m sure that’s the story of many people’s lives. You plan, with very explicit details, hoping that every detail is executed with precision. However, only to find that your plans fail, it all falls apart, and nothing, absolutely nothing went as planned. So you ask yourself, was your planning all a waste of time? What’s the purpose of planning is nothing goes as planned? You’re frustrated, bummed out and confused. You beat yourself up because you think there was something else you could have done. But honestly, the answer is no; a plan is just that, a plan, not a promise.
In our human flesh, we would like to think that we have control, but in all honesty, we only have as much control as God gives us. You know, God always has a way of wrecking our plans! As Proverbs 16:9 declares, a man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps. God gives us the ability to plan, but in other words, I guess, He is saying, don’t get beside yourself. Lol!! Honestly, I think God gets a good laugh when we make plans for our lives. I saw a quote a few years ago that said, “write your plans in pencil, but give God the pen”.
When we think of garbage, we think of something to be discarded; something of no value or of no use any longer; a waste; rubbish or junk. However, that is the farthest from the truth. Yesterday’s garbage is to be used for the lessons for today. It’s wisdom to be used as a way to start again, but better; to start again, but this time with God. God uses yesterday’s garbage as a tool to show you and I just how much more we need Him; just how much we need his direction, His love, His forgiveness, His correction, and convictions. God can use yesterday’s garbage to show us how we messed up and how we relied on our self for perfection.
Yesterday’s garbage isn’t a waste or something to be tossed aside without regard. That garbage can be used to correct mistakes, make crooked paths straight, and where there where stop signs, there can now be yield signs. We need God! As much as we want to think that we can navigate this life alone, it’s impossible to get through without Him. He is our sure way. Yes, the direction may change depending on where we are in our lives, however, the destination always stays the same. You and I can save ourselves so much hard ache and frustrations if we take the time to listen and follow directions. God is so gentle, and He has a way of correcting us without hurting us. Let your yesterday be the reason you are victorious today. Let your yesterday be the reason that you trust God today. Psalm 84:11, declares for the Lord God is a sun and a shield; the Lord will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly.
Yesterday’s garbage are certainly today’s blessings because you are able to see where you messed up. Honestly, that garbage is a reminder to you and I to show us what happens when we trust ourselves over the Father; ultimately, we are saying our ways are better than His………and the results determined, that is a LIE! Lol. I pray this encourage someone’s heart and mind to see God’s direction in your life, I promise He will not lead you wrong! Love you, Blessings Flow
