One of the definitions of squeeze is defined as to apply pressure in order to obtain something.
A former colleague reached out to me wanting information he was no longer privy to. I shared this information with a current colleague, and she said well, you know why he contacted you?” I said why? She said, he used to confide in you, and I responded, no, “he thought I would be an easy squeeze”, meaning he thought because we had rapport that he could easily extract information without care. In other words, he thought I would recklessly share information with him.
Don’t be an easy squeeze.
My dad was a man full of wisdom and knowledge and he taught with simple instructions. He would often say to me, do let anyone use you. I always wondered why he would always tell me that. Now, as an adult who has lived a lot, I now understand. No matter how big or small, right or wrong, sometimes, people will use you for their personal gain and benefit. Don’t be the person knows all the tea or information and always be willing share. It is wisdom to know, and to keep to yourself. You don’t have to share everything you know.
Don’t be an easy squeeze.
My dad often shared this scripture with me growing up, Matthew 10:16 that says, behold I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as a serpent and harmless(innocent) as a dove.
These days, people will use you in many ways, to extract information, use you for your knowledge about a specific topic, use you for your body, use you as a scapegoat, or as the old folks say, they may use you to throw the rock and hide their hands. The scriptures teaches us in James 1:5 that if any of you lack wisdom, let him ask and God will give it generously. So, I encourage you, don’t be an easy squeeze for anyone. Don’t let anyone use or misuse you in this season.
You know the process of squeezing a lemon for its juice, it’s a violent process, however, you don’t get much juice for all the strength you put into squeezing it. Its no different in comparison to your life. Som people will violently squeeze you for all you have, just for their benefit. What may not seem much to you, is great to them, so protect your juice, protect your gems. Don’t be an easy squeeze.
